Before redevelopment
Wildwood
Park
in Stafford was a large park with football pitches, tennis
courts, a play area and an old derelict concrete crazy golf course.
In 2013 I
procured and project managed a £400,000 project to redevelop the site.
Following consultation the derelict crazy golf course was removed and replaced
with a new concrete wheeled sports bowl, new toddler, junior and senior play
equipment and an outdoor gym.
Tendering
was undertaken on a consultation, design and build methodology and focused towards
delivering new exiting facilities with items not seen before in Stafford. In
order to achieve this many play companies partnered with a landscape designer
to deliver the best possible designs.
Materials
such as artificial grass, play mounds and an integrated natural play stepping
area were all new to Stafford and used to great effect.
To
promote the park I delivered and implemented a new signage policy and feature
entrance signs.
